What is Amra City?

Amra City is a proposed 500 km² smart and sustainable urban development near Amman, Jordan — designed to house over one million residents through an integrated, technology-driven framework.

At its core sits CityOS — a unified operating system orchestrating every sensor, every system, every service across the city.

A continuously updated Digital Twin simulates the city before it acts, enabling predictive maintenance, scenario planning, and adaptive control across critical infrastructure.

Built for the arid climate, Amra fuses private 5G, dense IoT sensing, and green infrastructure into a regenerative urban fabric — a blueprint for sustainable cities across the Middle East.

At the ground level, the Sponge City strategy captures and stores every drop of rainwater — feeding underground reservoirs instead of losing it to runoff, directly offsetting irrigation demand in one of the world's most water-scarce regions.

The Nervous System of a Smart City

The Internet of Things (IoT) refers to the network of physical devices embedded with sensors, software, and connectivity — enabling them to collect and exchange data in real time.

In Amra, IoT becomes the city's nervous system. Industrial IoT (IIoT) safeguards critical infrastructure — power, water, traffic, structural systems.

Energy-harvesting sensors and Smart Dust extend the sensing fabric without batteries. The stadium itself becomes a dense IoT cluster, instrumented from foundation to roof.

Every traffic light, water valve, structural beam, and stadium seat feeds CityOS — turning the urban environment into a living, sensing, responding organism.

From soil moisture beneath the stadium pitch to air quality across every neighborhood — three layers of sensing work silently across Amra: environmental, structural, and human.

Smart Dust — microscopic sensor particles — scatter across green corridors and open surfaces, tracking pollution, microclimates, and ecological stress at a resolution no camera can match.

Green technology is not decoration — it is the operating principle of a city designed to survive and thrive in one of the world's most water-scarce environments.

Amra doesn't import water — it earns it. The Sponge City strategy turns every raindrop into a resource: permeable pavements absorb surface runoff, bio-swales filter and redirect it, and underground cisterns store it — releasing water gradually back into the urban cycle.

Green IoT sensors track soil moisture, salinity, and thermal gradients in real time — autonomously triggering micro-irrigation only when and where it's needed. Every drop accounted for. Every kilowatt optimized.

MaaS replaces private vehicles with unified buses, light rail, and shared mobility — cutting emissions across a city of one million.

A city that doesn't consume its environment — it grows with it.

The Shield of a Smart City

Every connected device is a door. In a city of millions — and thousands of concurrent stadium visitors — one unlocked door can compromise everything.

IRRIGATION → HVACA compromised irrigation sensor pivots into HVAC controls, then cascades into stadium safety systems.
TRAFFIC SPOOFA spoofed traffic node freezes evacuation routes mid-event, trapping crowds inside the venue.
ROGUE GATEWAYA single rogue gateway exfiltrates citizen biometric data at city scale — silently.
